Scholarships In addition to University scholarships, the Mining Engineering Department has an excellent scholarship program, the William C. Browning Scholarships, available to Mining Engineering majors at the University of Utah.  Both academic scholarships and tuition assistance scholarships are available.  Currently over 75% of all students enrolled in the mining program are receiving financial assistance from the Department. The Browning Scholarship application form is now available in Adobe Acrobat format.  Follow the link to print the form, attach supporting documentation and mail it to the department address on the form. Mining Engineering Departmental Tuition Scholarship -- 1 award annually Mining Engineering majors with a minimum GPA of 3.0.  This is a tuition scholarship award and is administered by the University of Utah Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships.  Recipients must be full-time University of Utah students.   Contact Financial Aid (801-581-6211) or the Mining Engineering Office for additional information. William C. Browning Academic Scholarship -- Multiple Awards University of Utah Mining Engineering majors only.  Currently offers $4000/annually and may continue for four years.  Recipients must be full-time students, declare a major in Mining Engineering, and maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.0. William C. Browning Tuition Assistance Scholarship -- Multiple Awards University of Utah Mining Engineering majors only.  Currently offers $2000/annually, paid directly against student tuition, and may continue for four years.   Recipients must declare a major in Mining Engineering and maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.2. Distinguished Browning Scholars -- Multiple Awards Browning Academic Scholarship recipients that have completed a minimum of one year in the mining program and maintains a cumulative GPA of 3.4 or better.  Currently offers $5000/annually and may continue for three years. William C. Browning Graduate Fellowships -- Multiple Awards Available to M.S. or Ph.D. students only.
